Your question mystifies me. I know of a veterinarian who gave one his cats paxil, an antidepressant, for about 6 months. I assume something similar could be done with benzodiazepines.

everyone is different. tylenol pm has benadryl in it which can act as a sedative and as you know klonopin is a relaxing medication….together they could cause oversedation,
i’d chack with your doctor prescribing the klonopin first….

My sleep is just terrible ive taken 8 sleeping pills, valium klonopin, serapax, my usual methadone and i still cant sleep, i was addicted to speed and tramadol and used to stay up night after night is this why or am i just immune or am i on my way to an accidental overdose? insomnia!! help

You have a major prescription drug addiction and your body is very tolerant to sedative hypnotics. 8 klonopin and 40 mg of valium should put someone in a coma or kill them. You better be careful benzodiazepines will fry your brain. Take it from a former benzo addict like myself. You think opiates and speed messes you up? You wait until the benzos start frying your brain. The withdrawal from them is horrendous and it can take years for someone on a dose like you are on to wean themselves completely off because the withdrawal symptoms are that hardcore. You can actually die from coming off benzos cold turkey due to seizures which you would be at high risk of having seeing as you are on mega doses of benzos. my dr gave it to me yesterday but said it would take 2 to 3 weeks for it to start working. How long did it take for you. I also feel a little funny when i take the prozac. also did it help you.

Prozac will take at least 3 to 4 weeks. Klonopin is a time release anti-anxiety drug similar to xanax, but less addictive. First lets talk about Prozac. I would ask him to start you on a new drug like celexa or lexipro. These are much “cleaner” SSRI’s with less side-effects. Especially sexual. I did a lot of research before taking something. I chose Celexa. Stay away from Xanax. It works great but you rebound quickly finding the you are still anxious. Then you think you need another xanax, then the dependency starts. Kloopin is much better, but still has the risk of dependency. I have both but have only takin one in 7 months. It makes me feel better knowing they are there thouh. You have to make a effort to feel better. This means changing your life. I no longer drink alcohol(which was hard) no caffeine, tons odf exercise, and I eat well. I have made huge strides in the last 7 months. You will too.

Klonopin (or Clonazepam) doesn’t come in 10mg tablets. Did the friend take ten 1 mg tablets? If so, even just 10 mg is VERY high dose. Also, benzodiazepine effects are increase with alcohol. I would go to the emergency room to be safe and not sorry. Definitely call the ambulance if he is passed out or extraordinarily drowsy!!!

Even though Klonopin may be legal drug, it is still under the classification of “benzodiazepine” which is usually considered to be a controlled substance. (just like Xanax and Ativan) If you had 50 tabs in your pocket, i would say you could get in trouble for that. If they are prescribed to you, carry them in the original bottle with your name on it. otherwise, yes there will be a problem. the people who carry vet meds get in trouble, i would say you would too, with 50 Klonopin. that is a large amount of Klonopin, or any medication for that matter. I don’t know if you mean carrying 50 tabs without an original bottle, when you say “in my pocket” but even if you had 50 aspirin in your pocket without any labeling, you would most likely be questioned further at the airport.

Been on .25mg klonopin for about a month, wean off?

I’ve been taking the fast acting klonopin .25mg that last for 6 hours for about a month; and just about a week I took one at night too.
Do I have to wean off of it?
I meant if I can just stop it or if I should taper?
Answer:
One quarter mg/day is a very low dose, and should be easy to stop. If you are concerned, don’t stop abruptly. Try breaking the pills in half (I beleive they are scored), and take a half per day. When you are convinced that any side effects are over, stop taking them completely.
Before you try this though, be sure that the reason you began taking them has been resolved. Otherwise, you’ll probably just go back to square one with anxiety or insomnia, or whatever you’re taking them for.
For this reason, don’t throw the pills out until you’re sure you no longer need them.
